What we're learning in the classroom

Reading: We are learning to identify the parts of a story and understand what we’re reading.

Writing: We are learning how to add details to our writing

Math: We are learning to identify numbers as parts and wholes.

Science: We are learning about patterns of the sun

How you can help at home

Practice writing by having your child tap out words and writing a sentence they make up. The spelling doesn’t have to be correct just make sense.  

       *Example the sentence might be: I saw a black cat at night.

       *Student spelling: I sa a black cat at nit.

Practice counting to 100

Practice reading with your child every night for at least 10 minutes and discuss characters, setting, problems, as well as the beginning, middle, and end.

Learn to tie their own shoes
